Clear Plastic Boxes
I am hosting a bridal shower for my best friend. This is a great honor and I am thrilled and excited about the event. However, when the bride-to-be said that she wanted clear plastic boxes for the party favors, I was a little apprehensive. I had full reign on just about every other aspect of the party. The clear plastic boxes seemed a little odd at first.
Well, I’ve done my shopping and I have it narrowed down to four finalists. The clear plastic boxes come in a whole array of different styles and designs so getting this far was a real challenge for me. The final four each have something special to offer and I guess that I might have a harder time choosing than I originally thought.
The first clear plastic boxes that are on my finalist list are really simple in design. They look like regular square gift boxes and they have tuck tops that fit right into place like lids. These items arrive flat and have to be set up but that takes little time.
The next pick is exactly the same as the first except for the bottom. These clear plastic boxes have tuck lids but they also have beautiful gold card bottoms. This gives the basic design a little character and shimmer but I’m afraid that it might be a little too much. The whole reason that we went with clear plastic boxes was because they didn’t have color or distracting textures.
Since I love purses in general, the circle top gift box seemed like the perfect choice for the occasion. These clear plastic boxes fit together to look like a little purse with convenient handles. I like purses but that doesn’t mean that these items are right for my friend’s celebration.
The butterfly top clear plastic boxes are more her style. These items are absolutely beautiful and they are simple to assemble. They fit together just like traditional gift containers and they do fit the overall theme of the bridal shower. I guess that I actually managed to make a decision. For now, the ultimate choice in clear plastic boxes is the butterfly design.

Betty Boop Purses

Finally, I did have to purchase something more subtle. The last of the Betty Boop purses that I actually use is quite understated. This is a black purse of outstanding quality and if you really look closely, you’ll see Betty looking ever-so-adorable in a little emblem.

Bamboo Purse Handles
I have a great relationship with my sisters and my sister-in-laws. Each year I spend a weekend with my sisters and one with the in-laws. They have become traditions. We take turns planning them and try to go to different places and events. We leave early on a Saturday morning and return early evening on Sunday. We bring along wine to have in the hotel room so we can sit and visit and then we go out for dinner in the evening. Sometimes we stay at casinos and other times we will stay in a resort area. We spend most of the day Saturday shopping.
When we shop in the stores that have different gift items or crafts we are always saying, we could make that. My sisters and I laugh about this because we never follow through with making any of the things that we have seen. My sister-in-law on the other hand will go home the next day and will make something we saw on our outing. Last year we saw knitted bags. They had bamboo purse handles and were available in a variety of colors. They were very cute, but quite expensive. My sister-in-law loves to knit. She thought they would be easy to make but she did not know where she could find the bamboo purse handles. Over lunch we talked about alternatives she could use in place of the bamboo purse handles. I suggested just knitting a handle, but she was concerned that it would stretch too much, especially on a larger bag. We decided that after lunch we would look for a craft store to see if we could find the handles made of bamboo or some other handles that she could use in place of them.
The first store had wooden handles that were cute, however they were quite short. The sales person suggested we try another large store that carried more craft items. In this store we found a wide selection of bamboo purse handles in different sizes and colors. Some of the handles had been dyed in a wide selection of colors and others had been stained. The bigger hoops could be used for a shoulder bag. The handles were not very expensive so she bought a variety of sizes and colors so she could experiment with different bags. Since that time she has made a great many of the bags. She now orders the handles from a site off the internet because she has an even bigger selection and gets them delivered to her door.

A person like me should never have a television in the bedroom. Part of the trouble is the fear of missing something very important. I often find myself awake watching television at all hours of the night and I do find a lot of interesting things during the late night hours. Most of the things I find are interesting inventions that are offered only through television. I was happy to find a store in my local mall called As Seen on TV.
There are a few benefits of going to the As Seen on TV store rather than shopping through television in the late hours of the night. You may be less likely to feel pressured to buy an item if you know that you can visit a store and buy it any time. The infomercials are a little trickier because you never know if you are going to come across that particular item again.
This pressure of not being able to find the product again can lead to irrational shopping. Have the same products as seen on the infomercials at the tips of your shopping fingers at any time can help you think about your purchase before making a swift decision that can leave you with a serious case of buyer’s remorse.
I also like to be able to look directly at the item I am buying. For some reason, I have more faith in a product that I can examine first hand than I do something I see on a screen. Shopping for products as seen on the infomercials in a real store gives me a little peace of mind because I know exactly what I am taking with me. Surprises are not always welcomed in the shopping world.
If I am in the position of desperately needing an item that I can only find on late night infomercials, I may opt to browse for it on the Internet. There are sites that offer items as seen on the television infomercials. Buying online benefits the buyer because you can take your time in making your decision. You can also read feedback about the product from other people who have bought the product.
The products offered exclusively on infomercials often wind up in stores and online. You can eventually find just about any product as seen on these programs. If you are a fellow insomniac, make sure that you fight the urge to make quick buying decisions. Try visiting your local mall or try browsing the internet. Shopping is always best done when you are wide awake.
